The next meeting of the Sheffield Arts and Wellbeing Network will take place at 6:30pm on Tuesday November 19th. The venue is St Matthews on Carver Street in central Sheffield. Entry is free, and all are welcome to attend.
Our theme for the evening will be Creative Representations of Ageing presented by Bridie Moore. Bridie is a postgraduate researcher who works with the Passages Theatre Group, whose members are aged between 59 and 84. Together they are researching the representation and meanings of age and ageing and exploring the lived experience of older people through performance. This work creates a context in which the voices of older people can be heard and in which older people can think of themselves as creative and valued members of the community.
We would like to hear from anyone else with work or life experience on this theme, as well as snippets of local information or announcements you wish to make.
